About Katherine Berlin

Katherine Berlin Katherine Berlin was a Connecticut artist who resided in East Hampton. She enjoyed watercolor and pastel painting. Notably she painted historic buildings in the community. She has helped many civic organizations raise funds through her work. Many of these works have been made into limited edition prints.

Many of Katherine's paintings of East Hampton buildings are part of the Chatham Historical Society Museum's permanent collection. The Rathburn Library in Colchester also has one of her paintings in their permanent collection. The East Hampton Rotary in conjunction with the East Hampton Parks and Recreation Department chose her rendering of the Sears Pavilion at Lake Pocotopaug to be immortalized in granite. This plaque hangs inside the newly constructed Sears Pavilion at Sears Park.

Katherine has operated her own art store, studio and gallery called the Art Alcove for 3 years and also has worked at the Time Machine in the art department there. She has taught art classes to children and adults at both locations and in or about the Manchester, Ct. area including Manchester Community College. She also taught at the Marlborough Art Center where she was an active member.

Katherine was a member of the Connecticut Water Color Society and the American Watercolor Society. She belonged to associations in East Hampton, Marlborough and Glastonbury.

Kathy passed away peacefully on July 20th, 2012 from cancer.
